Presenting VHT01 - OBSERVATION ROOM (New York) whose unique brand of industrial synth (playfully dubbed β€œdisembody music”) weaves a cold and wistful spell of grinding bass and mesmeric melody. Rina (known also for the black metal project Floodhag and hardcore project THING) has successfully paid homage to the great synth acts of the past, while also calling to mind modern darkwave influences. The combined demos create an atmosphere of defiant melancholy, or perhaps of bitter acceptance, emphasized by vocals that drift throughout - at times cutting, at others, almost plaintive, and at yet still others so ethereal they might have been lifted from a choir. OBSERVATION ROOM is here to take you on a journey inward, to stand on the cusp of reflection on the past, only to turn away with gritted teeth, squared shoulders, and lessons in hand.

20% of tape sales and 100% of digital album sales will be donated to G.L.I.T.S. (instagram: @glits_inc), an NYC-based organization that works to mitigate the struggles experienced by transgender people bearing the brunt of our social, economic, and healthcare crises. They work to provide immediate aid to transgender sex workers, provide health care, housing, and wellness resources, and fight for the inclusion and recognition of trans people in society at large.
